The name ‘Kalyva’, which means ‘hut’ or ‘cottage’ in Greek, derives from the Mount Athos Greek word referring to the monastic hut or the living unit operated by a monk. Like the cloisters and cells, kalyves (in plural) are monastic institutions belonging to the dominant Monastery. The monks in these monastic institutions live in small groups, as in cells, working mainly with various arts and handicrafts. The villa dates back to the 70’s and has been fully renovated to feature all the essential modern amenities, making it the perfect destination for family holidays and romantic getaways. Kalyva Mare offers its guests the privacy and tranquility of a hidden villa while still being close to the Porto Carras touristic area and the beautiful and lively Porto Carras Marina. 

Built 31 meters above the sea level, in an exclusive area of Porto Carras Grand Resort, Kalyva Mare boasts three infinity pools and access to the private coves of the Porto Carras estate. This versatile five-bedroom property of 245 sq.m. can be rented as three independent and totally private one and two-bedroom villas or simply be separated by connecting doors to create two and four bedroom combinations being able to accommodate a maximum of 14 guests. Each villa has its own swimming pool (with pool fence available), a cozy living and dining area and a fully-equipped kitchen, while all bedrooms feature modern bathrooms with showers, king-size beds and TV/DVD players.
